Went fishing at Beaver Rock to test out a pulley rig I made using Breakaway Tackle Australia gear.
I also used a Breakaway casting cannon.
Use one of these & you will never have to use your finger when casting ever again.
Casting cannon is very useful when casting heaving lead (I was using a 200 gram Breakaway impact grapnel sinker).
I used a 90 pound wire trace on the hook side of the pulley.

Pulley construction consists of 80 pound SAS braid (certified tested breaking at 112 pound),80 pound mono shock leader, 133 pound swivel, 90 pound wire, 9/0 Gamakatsu hook, flemish eye knot to connect hook & swivel with wire using crimps covered with heat shrink, Breakaway impact shield & 1 crimp + clear beads.
There are some big toothy critters that live in the river where I fish.

Only fish caught were 4 catfish & 1 pike eel.
Had a big run from something & end result was no hook being set.

The rod featured in the video is a Daiwa Uptide from the U.K. which has a maximum casting weight of 10 ounces (280 grams).
Try casting that weight using your finger.
