Just thought I would test the water and see if anyone has any Aluminium camp ovens that they would consider selling or swapping from Gurranang Foundry near Grafton. They are easily identified with a double gumleaf markin g on the lid. Here's a shot of a couple I have.

Hi Dave, I have a small aluminium oven similar to your Aussie Oven, no gum leaves though, it has an Emu and Byrock (a station in Qld) on the lid. Also have some NZ made Alumark ovens which no doubt you also have.

Rob.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

I own a couple Aussie camp ovens, however l wouldn't want to part with them, as they're top little ovens which invariably hitch a ride on most of my camping trips Smiley

G'day and welcome to the forum.

Could you please create a new post all about yourself and what of the old sizes of camp oven and frying pan you will be making??

Also costing would be appreciated.

Have looked at your facebook page.  Well done and well done also for being able to reintroduce these camp ovens to the market.

For those of you on Facebook, here is the link  https://www.facebook.com/aussieovenco

Had a look at your online store.  Might I suggest you list your camp ovens as sized in inches across the top as this is the well known way of listing Aussie camp oven sizes

Cheers

Was waiting for your response Derek. Normally you crack a fruity when someone jumps on

the forum to just promote their product.

I looked earlier at the Facebook page and it looks good.

Totally agree with the sizes. I don't relate to quarts at all.

Seems to be low cost to get your stamp on a camp oven lid.

An interesting possibility is to get a ally lid to sit on a cast oven  Cheesy

Likewise.
$15 to put a name on a lid is very reasonable.
Prefer cast iron of course.

Hi.Anthony here from the Aussie Oven Co.I'm sorry for stepping on anyone's toes by promoting my product on your forum. We have just started up again and I am looking everywhere to try and get some sales. We have all the sizes of the old Gurranang ovens, bar the 45lt,as shown by Astroboys post. The pattern to make those was stolen from storage.I have gone to die casting rather than sand casting as it produces a superior finish to the castings and enables me to sell them cheaper. Our small 3lt oven is still sand cast and we have a new die being made for a smaller frypan. It is the same size as the 6lt oven,11 inches od,but only 2 inches deep. It can use the same lid as the 6 lt. I'm a 58 yr old father of 5 sons.I decided to throw my life savings into the ovens as regular work as a gyprock sheeter is hard to get at my age.No one wants to employ the older blokes anymore.I got hooked on camp oven cooking years ago .Nothing better than getting a fire going early in the day, slow cooking the roast whilst doing the lawns or whatever.Every now and then I get a whiff of whats cooking as I push the mower past the firepit.Beautiful.Sit down with the family in the arvo to a perfectly cooked roast and vegies and cold beer.Lifes good.
Ps. Thanks for the tip on the inches thing .I am onto it.
Happy cooking.
Anthony
