Thanks Aart,I lined the tray with butter,I also didn't spread the mixture the full width of tray,thought I'd just let you know,I'm only a novice at the camp oven cooking but Im loving it,I have a themometer ordered from eBay mite give me some idea how hot things are inside the oven,I reckon after a few cooks I'll have a better idea of how many coals it takes to do things

Looks like not enough heat to me but the guru will know where you went wrong did you use the heat bead chart up the top of the forum ? As for icing Lewis a basic icing mix is
Icing sugar
Bit of butter
Add warm water bit at a time until you get a toothpaste consistency and if yo want flavour just add essence

Thanks Gromit I think you could be right I put the 18 on top then put the co on a fire pit,think it was hotter on the bottom than top,could this be the cause you think cheers

All good I took it into work all cut up with butter on it tonight told them it was cake, they really liked it lol I didn't tell them it was supposed to be bread Smiley
