I just bought a Falkirk 12 inch at a garage sale and was thinking of listing it on eBay and was wondering what it's worth - looks like a normal camp oven with legs not the more fancy looking Sth African ones ??

That Falkirk would have been made in South Africa and is not one of the old Scottish made Falkirk ovens IMO.

It looks a lot different Derek, My big Oven is a Carron.

I agree Jeff , the number on the lid is a give away, its a dead ringer for a Falkirk Potjie Lid I have, except the lid size and number is different. My lid is smaller and its a No2

As a side note, do we really want the history section cluttered up by people with one post asking for advise on what their oven is worth, so that they can then sell it?
In my opinion this whole thread belongs else where.

Falkirk still make camp ovens in South Africa.  They call them bake pots over there.  As with the Chinese the new ones have different ears.

Don't know what he picked it up for but the bidding has taken off with it sitting at $280 with 23 bids.

As an aside it annoys me when someone posts like this as a first post and then never returns to the forum.  Or has not as yet.
