I have had a single square Toastie Jaffle Iron for some time and it lives permanently in the caravan and get used heaps when we are away.

There came up on eBay the original recipe book for these so I posted a few bids and pulled out when it got over $21.00.  The first photo below is it.

Later this evening was looking again on eBay with no intention of buying anything  Cool and lo and behold there was a double Toastie jaffle iron with a copy of the same book for $49.95.  See second photo.

Sent the seller an email to check to make sure it had the same black bakelite handles as my single square one and yes it does.

Like I said, no intention of buying but I couldn't pass it up as I can see it sitting nicely on top of the Ozpig.  See second photo.

Now I need the round one to complete the set.

Haven't told Maggie yet.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Why do you prefer the Bakelite handles?

The wooden ones are blue and red for a reason. Just can't remember why at the minute  Cheesy

We should set up a Jaffle challenge  Smiley

No reason at all really.  The first Toastie I bought had the bakelite handles and I know all the other sizes come in them so just to be the same I guess.

She's a beauty, Derek. I don't think I could bring myself to use it and would end up keeping it for a collector's item.

Its not burnt. Just really well done.

The

It was to know what side as what.  Most would start the first side cooking with the red handle up... When it was done that side, the green/blue side was up so you knew it was on its second side...
