Do many of you use Travel Auctions for powered caravan sites??? - http://www.travelauctions.com.au/powered-sites

I am currently bidding on a few places for our upcoming trips.  I have already got one at Lakes Entrance for ten nights for $195 (normally $350) and am bidding on a few others.

The auctions are for ten nights on a powered site and if you do it carefully can regularly get them for less than $20 a night.  Some of the others I have bids accepted for as little as $16.50 a night.

That is cheaper than a lot of the low cost camps around the place especially considering the location.

Just picked up another at Warrnambool for $18.50 a night for 10 nights.  Looks like a good place to explore the Great Ocean Road.

In all honesty Derek, I didn't even know sites like this exist. My mother and her fella are grey nomads and spend quite some time in various caravan parks so I think I'll be sharing this info. Although I'm sure that they would know about it or something very similar. Thanks again.

I have now won four of these.  The latest being at Wallaga Lake on the NSW south coast.

This one was $16.50 a night for ten nights.

Bidding one one more in South Australia that is up in the next 24 hours.

That will give us at least 50 nights in caravan parks on powered sites for our next trip.

For the 40 nights won so far has worked out at an average of $18.37 a night.

We are stoked.

Just picked up number 5 as the auction finished early.  Edithburgh Caravan Park in SA @ $17.00 a night for ten nights.

That is a total of 50 nights at an average of $18.10 a night.
