It seems the older I get the more stuff I need in the camper
Is it an easy task to fit electric brakes to a trailer without them ? I don't have a lot of mechanical skills but kinda know the basics so to speak so my question is can it be done and what direction do I need to take any help would be grateful thanks ... Or is it time for a caravan ??

Someone more knowledgeable than me may be able to really help you but my understanding is it will mean possibly new hubs to house the brake assemblies and possibly depending on what your setup is new axles.

Why do you now need electric brakes???

You can buy the kits but not sure on how you would assemble them  http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10-ELECTRIC-DRUM-BRAKE-KIT-trailer-caravan-camper-par...

Technically, or by law, you do not need brakes unless the ATM is over 750 kg.

Really you shouldn't hardly notice that behind the Landy.

Correct.
Be careful not to go over the 750 though.

Rolly by the pictures you put up I think you will need to check the axle.
To me it looks like a parallel axle, I am only guessing though. Having a round axle also means you need a good pad for the u bolts to lock down onto the springs.
I have seen what happens when the brakes come on and then the axle turned in the u bolts instead of slowing down the trailer.
But in most times it is not a big job to do the conversion. And regardless of the load brakes are good I think.
I have fitted override and electric brakes to trailers in the past and for me I like the electric system.
If you have a parallel axle I think you will need the 10” kit.

With a controller, although you do not need the hitch.
