Maggie and I went window shopping. After three months last year in Victoria in and out of the caravan in the rain, this one is very tempting but I didn't like some of the colours.  Roll Eyes

7990 long which puts it just on 26 feet.  The backend has a similar layout to our van.  In fact for us the best layout we have seen in a motorhome.

We didn't like some of the colours and the lift up bed above the cabin needs to be made into storage.

We clinched the deal yesterday and pick her up next Thursday. Was kind of sad driving away from our old but not so old caravan yesterday.

Was good to find one ready to go and not have to go through the process of waiting months to get one made.  This has all the options I was looking for but the only thing I may have to play with is the solar system and then maybe not that either.

Excitement overload for us and a new journey to begin.

Questions Derek? Is the 26 ft including the cab?
Is there storeage under the bed that slides?
Car on the back?

Yes Brian that is tip to tail. However both the driver and passenger seats swivel so the cab is also useful space when stopped.  It has actually more room than our 21 foot Silverline.

Yes, storage under bed.

No car on the back.

If ever I progress from caravan to a motorhome, I won't be towing either.

We brought this little baby home today.  Been a long couple of days for us.  Down to Coffs Harbour and back.

Now have three weeks to get it ready for our next big trip.

Been a few hectic days here in the Bullock household. Nothing to do with the Motorhome.

Here it is finally in the backyard.

Off tomorrow to get it registered.

Have installed a new 600 watt inverter as well as the 12 volt Blu-Ray DVD Player I took out of the old caravan today. Although still waiting for the resettable 100 amp fuse to arrive before I can connect the inverter.

I also went around with a screwdriver and tightened all of the screws I could find in it.

After some great discussion with a trailer manufacturer we have agreed on the design of a trailer to tow behind the motorhome.

In lots of ways it is based on a tradies style of trailer but with lots of extras to our design.

Build will be over four weeks so will have it for the next COG.

The truck is off for it’s first full service on Wednesday.

After having to get the Landcruiser serviced every 10,000 klm I was surprised that the service schedule on this one is every 12 months or 48,000 klm whatever comes first.

Hope I won’t need to take a mortgage out on the house to pay for it.  Grin Grin Grin

Big disappointment today.

Dropped the truck off at the Fiat Dealer @ 9.30 for the service and said they could keep it all day.

Got a call from them about 2.00 saying sorry they were unable to do it as they didn’t have the right oil.

Seems that you have to use a special Fiat oil that comes from Italy to maintain the warranty.

They will call me when they get some in.

I actually have a litre bottle of Penrite Oil in the trailer that I was told was the right one in case I needed to top up.

Have heard of lots of reasons for companies trying to get out of warranty but never in regards to using their brand of oil.
