Found some old photos so nothing new here.

Not often I cook without Heat Beads but this was one of them.

The top of the roast was smothered in whole grain mustard and crushed garlic.

Once I would have cooked the vegetables in the fat in the same pan as the meat but my cholesterol doesn’t behave like it did when I was much younger.  Cheesy

I'm always hesitate about dry cook the CO, look at your result I'm tempted to try eventually Smiley

A rolled roast, like the one in the photos, with some fat in it lends itself perfectly to dry roasting.

I remember the location was the free camp on the Dumaresq River at Texas in Qld and that nice piece of beef came from the local butcher.

Nothing ventured nothing gained , sometimes you have to burn to learn. Roasting is easy once you get the hang of it ....in my opinion liquid under a lump of meat in a camp oven = Steaming..or Stewing
