After I clean it up a bit I will out up some better photos
I just flushed it out a few times first then used it  a few more times with a bit of dish washing liquid  added
Remember it  will be ONLY used for washing  (hands, dishes, shower etc) NOT for drinking
I will bring it the the COG next month so you can have a better look
They are very easy to make total cost is less than $10 and less than 15 minutes  labor

As a non-welder, if you have the inclination, bring two to the COG and I will double that $10 for it.  Wink

Nope. Doesn’t need a tap.  The key thing is that the filler pipe from the top goes near to the bottom so that when you put the cold water in  the hot water above it is pushed out.

This one is at the Crows Nest National Park in Qld.  You light a fire underneath it.

Friend of mine has one made from a beer keg and he was going to put a second outlet half way down it for when he doesn’t need to fully fill it.

Dave it's not a good idea to put a tap on them because they don't take long to come to the boil and if  the top outlet is closed pressure builds up and you end up with a vilent erupting vessel spewing boiling water skyward in an uncontrollable  manner  as the fill  goes to the bottom  As it is you get steam venting from the outlet all the time
