I found a nice tray of steak and kidney in the supermarket the other day.

Cooked it up with a cup of stock, half a cup of port, some thyme and a chopped onion and a dash of salt and pepper. Cooked for an hour and a half and thickened with plain flour.

Used my new 16” oven to cook the pies.  Very basic really as I just used bought puff pastry but I did put little pastry kidneys on top  Grin

Fifty minutes to cook and served with some mash and sprouts.

Absolutely delicious.

Real hard to beat steak and kidney, a very staple diet in the fifty's. That's on the menu next week.
