Captain Cook from the bbq forum wrote this on the caravaners forum and I’m reposting here on the camp oven forum  Cheesy

“Reasons that the steak sticks to the grill
- meat too cold when you put it on - should be room temperature
- did not oil the steak.
- grill was dry - grill should have a oil residue on it to protect it from rusting wipe grill with a bit of oil after cooking
- meat was too wet
- grill was not hot enough to start cooking.”

I recently bbq’ed a couple of rump steaks on my brothers babyq.

He was inside bashing/tenderising his steaks and was going to cook them on his breakfast plate that he placed on top of his grill plates  Roll Eyes

He is now a convert of grill plate cooking.

Camped with my bro for a few days. He reckons my Voyager throws out more heat than his babyq.

I failed again trying to crackle pork, so that is off the menu from now  Smiley

I baked these chicken niblets in their marinade then placed them on the tray. Perfect.

Have done a couple of potato wedges for a snack.

Niblets were very tasty, Jeff  Smiley

Camped at Haythorpe Reserve Mannum, Murray. Never liked this spot before because of crowds and traffic noise, but as I get older it doesn’t worry me now.

Only 100 k’s from Adelaide.

Baked some spuds rolled in seasoned oil. Has to be the simplest and tastiest camp meal ever.
