Does anyone take their pay tv set up away with them? One of the guys at work takes his in his caravan and l was hoping to do the same. l have tried a few times at home to get  it to work with a dish l got off the side of the road but to no avail. l keep getting a "searching for channels " message. Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Its not burnt. Just really well done.

Here's a tip, leave it at home.  Wink Grin

Can't help with that mate. We have a TV with us but a lot of places we camp we can't get reception so we watch the bush TV instead which is much better anyway.  Smiley

I must admit I had satellite TV on our old Silverline Caravan and we used it a lot.

Most know that Maggie and I often go south in winter and have been known to stop in the snow country.

I recall a few times out in the middle of nowhere not far from Kosciusko sitting inside the van with the heater keeping us at around 20 degrees watching a movie on the satellite while the temp outside varied between zero and minus 5 degrees.

Have seen a number of discussions on caravan forums where people have successfully taken their Foxtel with them in a caravan so expect it is doable. I also believe it is against the conditions of use to remove it from the house.

Hi
Our caravan is set up with solar power Led lighting etc.
The TV works getting free to air all the time including when
free camping. It is very rare that we do not get a signal.
For the times  of no signal out comes a DVD
which is better than nothing. Lesley is more then happy with that arrangement

regards Kev

Haha. Thanks for the replies guys. l knew I'd get a mixed response about this one. it's a very touchy subject on most camping sites. We only use the tv of a night after the mozzies chase us inside. even then, it's mainly just to keep our son ocupied. Thanks again.

Mate of mine takes the pay TV box away with them. Don't know why. So many things you can do.

I think you will find you will need a control box for the signal.  On mine I had the dish, control box for dish and the box similar to your Foxtel or pay box.

The control box for the satellite had a digital screen that would let you know you were connected to a satellite.
