I am asking if anyone has used  one of the kings 12” spun steel ovens.

I have never used or owned a spun steel oven, mainly as the ones I have looked at I thought were going to be not suited to me to use with only having the one arm.
The kings oven has handles I thought might be better for me to use.

John, the Aussie Camp Ovens are made by Southern Metal Spinners the makers of the Bedourie Camp Oven.

When they first made them Bill Thompson gave me one to do some road testing.  It was the 12 inch model.

They make a 10”, 12” and 15”.

The handles on the older ones were a little different back then.  The double handles on the lid on the new ones was a good change.

I cooked just about everything in it for quite a few years.  I found it good for hightop bread due to the depth of it.

I used both heat beads and fire coals and found them to be pretty good.  They are basically just the Bedourie Oven only deeper and with the lid turned up the other way.

There are a few guys on here with them.

John, I bought the Jumbo 15” spun steel oven. Have a look here for my experience using it.

I wonder who makes the Adventure kings camp ovens, the say Australian made.
They look similar to the Southern metal spinners oven, it had been the bedourie oven I had looked at before.

For the price this package might be worth a look for me.

Have the southern metal 12 inch but not much use so far. Will be getting their 10 inch before the next cog. Light weight for packing and handling are my main reason for owning.

John, they are made by Southern Metal Spinners.  There are quite a few companies now selling them online.

Thanks Derek, I asked as one of the photos had what looked like adventure kings embossed into the lid, but in the second link the lid looks plain. I think I would prefer plain though.
