Being a WA snake I don’t know much about the Dugite.

Here is a description and that one certainly could be one.

I messaged the environmental guy from work and he confirmed it's a dugite. Said that being a coastal dugite, the head colour will be different to what I googled. Was pretty feisty. Don't think it was too happy being shoved inside an esky for half an hour

Good Evening
Years ago we had  property 6 1/2 acres SE Brisy in the redland Bay area. There was a creek going through the property and we had a lot of snakes that looked like the same of the one in the photo.I always believed it was some type of  tiger snake
Is the Dugite found all over australia?.

The Dugite is only in WA.  What you most likely had on the property was the Rough Scaled Snake.  It looks similar and is quite common.

From the description from Derek's link this is the bit I don't like.

Because of the snake’s size and highly toxic venom the Dugite is considered to be very dangerous to humans.

I saw a snake around this time last year down near the estuary which was close to 6 foot long. I think it was a brown snake or dugite. Unfortunately didn't get a good photo of it. Don't think I'll be going fishing in just my thongs anymore
