Hi Derek
When I was a kid we had an aviary and we got wild may bush
and put dry grass mostly that long length of couch and the birds would come down onto the ground and take the grass back to the nest. Was always great to just to sit and watch. The two parents would only take about a day to build.
We had finches in my young married life and we joined the Qld F inch Society and we then bought nest boxes made from ply from them. We would also go out and collect November grass and put it down for them. They love that
to build as it is a very soft grass. the couch was also very good. I think you would have those grasses near you.
There is a lot more things you can feed and also collect for nesting material  Let me know if you want to know more.

Regards Kev.

I was wondering if hanging a few nest boxes here in the shrubs might encourage them to nest.

Pale-headed Rosella back at the nesting box.  Will wait a week and take the lid off to see what is going on.

It's great that they come back each year to the same nesting spot.

Couldn’t quite get a clear shot.  Crested pigeon babies about a metre from the back of the BBQ area
