Has anyone seen or read the book Made in Shepparton: The History of J. Furphy & Sons 1873 - 1998.  It was written by Joseph Furphy and published in 1998.

1998 was about the time Furphy stopped manufacturing their own camp ovens so wonder if there is any mention of the history on when they started making them.

It is a 99 page book with B&W photos and seems to hold a good price with several available online with pricing between $45 and $50.

Am sure it would make a very worthwhile addition to your library Derek.  Wink

You could then avail the forum members of the historical background pertaining to that esteemed foundry, particularly its rough and ready camp oven products.  Roll Eyes

PS: sorry, my paypal is overdrawn or I would buy the book for you.  Grin

Never seen one in the flesh, have noticed them kicking around online. Could always leave a note to the Easter Bunny on the fridge door and see if one turns up at Easter time. Grin
