So I've successfully grown some Carolina Reaper chilli's. Hottest chilli in the world at one point, pretty sure they've produced a hotter chilli now. Not sure what I plan to do with it, probably make a hot sauce of some sort

Looking forward to the taste test feedback.

No thanks; not a fan of really hot stuff. Our son is growing quite a number of different chillies at present also.

If that was me holding it then I would wear gloves.  Grin Grin Grin

Rory (Saltbush Bill) is the man for chillies. He has a good knowledge on them and I am pretty sure it was one of these that he gave me a nibble of once  Shocked Shocked

It is highly recommended to wear gloves. I just try to remember not to rub my eyes or pick my nose afterwards  Grin

Pulled a heap of jalapenos out of the freezer, went and fought the crowds to get a handful of habaneros, plus the 4 or 5 reapers I've got off the bush and having a go at a chilli sauce this arvo. Started inside but moved out as the fumes were quite pungent inside

You've got some fairly serious heat in that pot there Taddy.....what recipe you using ..or making it up as you go?

Ive had the same problem a few times , the fumes can get a bit over powering. Even more so if you put the hot contents of the pot into a blender and give it a wizz, then take the lid off to quick.
Helpfull Hint ..dont rub your eyes , face or go for a pee without washing hands very thoroughly first after making / bottling sauce like that. Ive learned all of the above the hard way over time..  Shocked Sad
Throw away plastic gloves from Bunnings are cheap by the box and very helpful for this kind of job.
