Rab it is an old frying pan just to hold the heat beads. Seems to work ok. Need to get another mesh to lay across the original one as the beads would fall through after they have burnt for a while then I can do away with the pan.

Kevvie been a couple of good relaxing days, doing lamb shanks in red wine at the moment. Cheers

I have what looks like the same pit and suspected that the beads would disappear prematurely as the grill is fairly widely spaced.
