Two very large home grown red dragon fruit.

My hand there for size comparison.

Will have one between us for desert tonight

I had forgotten how yummy these get.  I haven’t actually eaten one since I left Darwin about ten years ago

Had the olive harvesters come through a couple of days ago.

We have a couple of big trees and a bunch of 3 or 4 year old ones.

We lost the majority of the fruit in the wind a couple of weeks back, however we still got 45kg.

They said they thought that in two years time, when the young trees mature a bit we should get over 100kg.

They are a small artisan oil producer. We originally met them at a local market, where we asked if they did outside pressing.

As we only have a few trees and aren't really interested in the whole production thing, we came to the agreement that they would harvest to add to their olive supply and return 10% of the oil after pressing. This year we'll probably get one or two bottles of first press oil.

As I really just don't want to waste the fruit, it seems like a win/win. The alternative was to possibly remove the younger trees and put something else in.
