Hi Derek
Getting closer to home.
The show grounds looks like a great place to camp. The price is right.Looks like a few other people  also travelling.
When we have travelled south we would stop and make camp at Armidale show ground.
I  hope it has not been too hot travelling?.
Safe travelling tomorrow
regards Kev Wink

Not really Kev, we see it as preparation and anticipation for our next trip.   Cheesy

That is true Derek.
When I was employed I will not mention the word (W ..K)
I would use my leave to the max.
I would always have my next trip planned well in advance.
It was worst when we were in a caravan club  we were away every month.
Enjoy your day
regards Kev

Grin Grin Yes, I recall that when I was working, Kev.  Shift work and they made us apply a year in advance for our leave.  I regularly took the June school holidays as no-one else seemed to want leave in winter.

We just about had a permanent booking at the Torquay Caravan Park in Hervey Bay, right on the water.  Around 20 steps through a little sand dune from the front of the tent and you were on the beach.  Cool to cold nights and beautiful warm days up there in that month.

Rarely were there any Queenslanders there, just the usual crowd of retirees from Victoria and South Australia.  I think they are called grey nomads now.  Grin

Son and daughter camped in the same spot last year and we went up to see them and there is now a fence and rocks across the front of the park with steps going down onto the beach.

I think about the only thing about Hervey Bay that has remained static from those days is the Fishermans’s Co-Op where you can still get the best fresh prawns.

I was good at planning leave as I  also had it well planed in advance. I was once in a caravan club when I was forced  Grin Grin to arrange a long weekend every month to attend a caravan weekend away  Roll Eyes
Over the years we even had the chance to do a 3 month house sit on Norfolk Island.
