Hi Derek
The camp site looks good, not many people travelling. Have been to old Junee and young Junee.
All the best to you both.
regards Kev Wink

Finally made it to Melbourne after spending a couple of very stressful days and nights at the Brown Brothers Winery.

We arrived and the two puppies jumped out of the motorhome on their leads with Maggie while I was setting up.

Daisy took a few steps and gave a yelp. Thinking she had stepped on a prickle Maggie picked her up and checked her foot and found no prickles but she yelped again when one of her back feet was touched.

This was on short mown grass.

Put her down and a short time later she collapsed on the ground. Took her inside and she started vomiting and diarrhoea. Wasn’t moving at all so straight on the Internet to find the closest veterinary hospital.  Found a 24/7 one in Wangaratta 15 minutes away. Off we went.  Saturday just on dark.

After tests including blood tests they concluded she had been bitten by a snake and most likely a red belly black one. Treatment included antivenin and a drip for fluids.

To cut a long story short she spent two nights there and pulled through although we need to watch her carefully for the next six weeks.

Now to the snake. Have no idea where it was. It is freezing cold down here and they would normally be in hibernation now.

Just grateful she is ok.

First photo from the vet on her first night. She has a drip. Second from the vet taken yesterday morning after a bath ready to come home and then her and Penny back together. She has a plaster where the drip was.

On a positive note the caravan park here gave us a deal where we only payed for five days and stay for seven so for the two weeks got four days free.

HI Derek
Yes that would be stressful. Lucky Maggie didn't get bitten.
Good to hear  she is on the mend.
Lesley just yelled out Melbourne is going into Mask mode.
All our very best to you both and the dogs.
regards Kev Wink

It has gone crazy down here as of yesterday.  Funny thing I had a feeling this may happen so bought a box of disposable masks before we left.

Sadly for us they have put a restriction of a maximum five people together in homes so restricts us a bit on getting together.  Waiting to get the full details on that to see if it includes kids.

Getting worse now.  Nine cases have been found.  We have a contingency to debunk as soon as they announce something.
