Maggie and I love our salmon, raw or cooked in all different ways and particularly enjoy smoked salmon.  When we were last in Tassie we ate a lot of the local stuff.

On a recent shopping foray I spied this pack of New Zealand King Salmon and when I read the packet saw that it was Chinook Salmon as opposed to the Atlantic Salmon from Tasmania.

Today’s breakfast was avo on toast with the salmon and a poached egg on top.

The salmon was more oily than the usual one but the taste was superb and I couldn’t fault it.  I will be heading back for more.

I love many, many, many things in life.  Here are just three of them:

I love playing with food
I love eating food
I love a Maccas breakfast when we are travelling

But . . . . I often say to myself when eating out, “I think I can do better than that.”

So, here is my version of a Maccas breakfast cooked in my Breville toaster grill.

Toasted muffin
Home made meat patty
Bacon
Egg
Hash brown

If I would do anything different, next time I will put the hash brown in a little earlier than the rest so it crisps up more.

I give this one a 8.5 out of 10.  Tongue

At the police hq Cafe they had a bacon and egg roll with a hash brown inside the roll. It was my go to on very early starts.
Note to self, start making them at home.

Maggie brought home a dozen eggs from one of the ladies at her craft group and they are very small.

Poached up well on a bit of King Salmon. Smiley

Local IGA has started stocking what they call “Massive Eggs” in a 10 pack.  They are still not as large as the ones we were getting when we were travelling in South Australia.

I wasn’t however surprised to get a double Yorker this morning.   Smiley

Maggie said this morning, how about a cooked breakfast.  Who am I to say no particularly when Woolies is just down the road.

Sourdough toast (I am going to learn to make this one day) bacon, egg, pork chipolata, black pudding, grilled tomato, portobello mushrooms, wilted spinach and baked beans.  Followed by a cup of tea.   Wink

Not sure it belongs here though under “A Simple Breakfast”.  Grin Grin Grin Grin
