Jeff, had it last night although half left over for tonight.  Made a paste of salt, pepper, garlic and chopped fresh rosemary.  Covered the fatty part with it and did a slow cook.  Meat just about falling off the bone and oh so delicious.

Sounds delicious alright.

22nd December Aldi have their single plate induction cooker on sale again for $50. Cheers

For those who have one of these how much current do they draw?

Looking at it as a back up that will be run on a generator.

I have a different brand but I believe they are all similar. Max power is 2000 watts and graduates down to 200

Thanks Derek.

I guess that is sailing a little close to the limits of usability on a 2kVA generator when you factor in in-rush current.

Might have to restock with gas cannisters  Smiley

Although at $50 it might be worth a play.

Worth a play Collin I mainly use mine at the low scale anyway and if you ever have access to a camp with power they are great for outdoor cooking. Fire bans in SA now so gas or electric.

The authorities are taking the fun out of bush camping, now many places have signs saying  "No solid fuel fires" so gas BBQs or an alternative is a must. I can understand the reasoning behind this, on a recent trip I wandered down through two recently vacated campsites where the campfires were still smoldering surrounded by stubbies etc.
Grubs.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

Rob, I think that since the last lot of big fires across the country there has been significant fear amongst authorities that has caused some of it.
