I honestly did think that the virus was going to ease and we would see our borders open up again but alas with the new Omicron variant everything seems it may be up in the air again.

We are considering a trip in the new year, down through western NSW, into SA and down both the Eyre and Yorke Peninsula and them north into NT, up to Darwin then across to north Qld as far north as Cooktown then back home via the coast.

This is more or less a half lap.  Would be a winter trip.

Hoping for two things really.  Open State Borders in Australia so we don’t have to bother with border passes and open International Borders so that more people are travelling overseas and not in Australia.

If it all fails then the plan will be to stay in QLD and head up through the inland to MT Isa, across to the coast and up to Cooktown and down again following the coastal areas.

Anyone else with travel plans????

Hi Derek
As for us  I now have medical appointments to attend to     due to a recent fall and now having issues which we will have to wait and see what happens in the new year.
exciting news is yesterday selling our caravan.
Lesley and I wish everyone  all the very best for christmas and enjoy the new year.

At this stage I plan on staying in Queensland.
Bonnie is taking her long service at the start of February and onto the last week of May so we would like to do some tripping around in that time.

This virus and border closures will have to get a lot better before we will cross into another state.
Having said that SA has a lot of great camping / caravanning spots.
Stay Happy and Safe.

Had a week camping at Sofala recently, we were lucky the weather was good anyway for the coming year we have booked in for the swap meet at Ballarat in February and then the Camp Oven Cooking Festival at Nymboida June long weekend this of course all depends on Covid.
Hope you are all well.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd
