In the corner of my back garden I currently have a purpose built herb garden that has never really been all that good due to shading.

It covers an area of 3 metres by 1.5 metres.

I am thinking of removing it and replacing it with an open fire type outdoor cooking area.

The sides and rear built up with of maybe concrete/stone and a base of perhaps fire bricks.

Or maybe the Covid has kept me home too much and I am overthinking.

What do you reckon??

Do you have a fire season in Queensland were you can not have outdoor fires?

No fire seasons here in Qld like some other states but we do get times, dependent on what is happening, where we have total fire bans but they usually don’t last long.

You need a lot of work to change it to perfect place for bbq. I would love to go with it as this can be a dream DIY project for me. Do make sure to share photos once completed.

Still in the thinking stage at this time.

I am 70 this year and starting to wonder if anymore changes/improvements here might be for the next owners and not me.

Also it will be a lot of work as one side of that garden holds up the undercover cooking area.

Changed my mind.  Cleaned it all out and turned it back into a herb garden but everything in pots.

The tree in the red pot is our living Christmas tree. Into it’s third year now.

That lil rooster is on guard.   Grin
