Went for a drive to Tin Can Bay, Rainbow Beach and Inskip Point yesterday.

Was a bit of a trip down memory lane as hadn’t been that way for a while however in the past it was our regular fishing and crabbing area.

Couldn’t get to Inskip as there was a caravan fire.  Fire engine passed us along the road.  Caravan completely burned but fortunately no one hurt.

When I was a kid we nearly always saw brumbies on the sides of the road when travelling to Rainbow Beach and I often wondered what happened to them.

Imagine our surprise to see these three beauties off to the side of the road.

They looked great with an amazing glossy coat.

Managed to grab a couple of pics with the phone before they bolted.

There is still plenty of them in the forestry down that way. They are a bit of a hazard on the road at night. I think I read recently that they are going to be trapped and rehomed.

Yesterday another trip down through the state forest area and came across this little family group of wild brumbies together with a young foal.

Notice the stallion standing fast while the others moved off
