Growing up in Boddington, I've driven past this "mountain" (large hill) for years and have always wanted to do the hike to the top. Finally organised a day trip with a friend of mine where we parked a car at either end and did the hike over a few hours. Was a really nice walk. Plan to go again during wildflower season as I've heard it's spectacular at that time of year. Was still pretty special at this time of year anyway and was thoroughly enjoyed.

Lovely walk. A good distance as well.

While we are away we stayed at Jindabyne for 3 nights. Intending to do a walk to the Kosciuszko summit.  It rained for the 3 days. Didn't get to do it. We will be back, and spend a summer there in Kosciuszko National Park.

I did the walk to Kosciusko Summit some years back from Charlottes Pass.  18 klm round trip.

Pic of me standing at the top.

I wish we had the same weather as in your photo. We drove to Charlotte's Pass and couldn't see more than 50 metres.clouds were  thick and low.

It was 1 degree for the walk hence all the layers.

In days gone by you were able to drive from Charlottes Pass right to the base of the summit and then about 100 metres to walk up to the top.  I think they stopped that back in the 40’s or 50’s.

The walking track is now on what was the old road.  You can ride a pushbike on it these days.

Aart, where did you stay at Jindabyne?

Our favourite park at NRMA.  Have always managed a deal there.  Last was pay for three nights and stay for four.

Nice big sites down the front where we can fit motorhome, trailer and car.

We had power and water on a wet sloping grass patch near the entrance. The lake was up and some of the park was inundated. Lucky to get a site at all.  Good park though.
