Yesterday started a job bigger than I expected.  If you look at the first photo all that brown marking and dirty colour is not actually dirt but the decals breaking down. Some of the grey metallic ones have also crazed.

Son-In-Law is a sign writer and tells me these things have a life of around five years which is very disappointing as when we bought the motorhome there was $3200 worth of decals on it.

So yesterday started taking them off.  I was expecting some difficulty but wow.  Biggest disappointment was they took the clear coat off the drivers door.  No real big deal as a spray painter can easily fix that.

Have given myself two weeks to do it and the good thing is when finished our Son-In-Law will replace with something else if we decide we don’t like the plain sides.

What did you use to take them off with? Hair dryer?

The black, white and dark grey came off with a hairdryer but the silver ones that are all crazed are like aluminium foil and won’t peel.  Today I bought a couple of caramel wheels to get them off.  Will try them tomorrow.

I lost a week with Maggie being unwell so in to it again tomorrow hopefully.

While I have remove a lot, some of those decals are difficult to remove so the son-in-law is lending me a commercial steamer that they use.

The difficult ones are the grey metallic ones as they are just like aluminium foil and very difficult to peel.

This is all starting to get very difficult now.  The grey metallic stickers are baked on really hard and I have ordered some plastic razor blades that the experts allegedly use.  My two week time frame is being extended.   Grin Grin Grin Grin

The plastic razors arrived this morning so back into it.

No decals left on the starboard side and I am halfway down the port side.

Currently lacking energy so giving it away for the day.

I think one more day and they will be all off then the cut and polish starts.

I think you might have your port and starboard reversed.

Too much tawny perhaps?
