Have booked the Ute in to get a heavy duty transmission cooler and bypass valve fitted. Has anyone else done this?

Hi Brian
With the Land Rover Discovery   When I got the 2nd service they asked if I towed a caravan they tried to get me to put  one of those coolers in. They wanted  $2,500 at that time. I never went ahead putting it in.
We had a heavy Montana 21 foot caravan. We never had any
problem with the Disco's towing during the time we had that van
Good luck Brian
PS I don't about the bypass valve
regards Kev (Kevvie)

Hi Brian yes I have in the Ranger, best thing I done. Most people do not realise if the outside temperature is in mid 30c to 40c the the tarmac is usually well over 60c and that is a lot of hot air coming up on to a hot motor.

Mine was done in Adelaide by Rowel and Searle. Kings Court Adelaide cheers Robert

Yes we have fitted one to our Mux as we tow around 2.9 ton loaded. I made up a cardboard template the shape of a bracket I needed to fit the cooler and then had a local aluminium place make the bracket. It cost $80 and the Davies Craig cooler was on special at the time at $119.00 and a mate and I fitted it. We fitted it in line after the radiator cooler. It has been fitted a few years now and all good. The transmission temp has never gone over 94 degrees but usually sits in the high 70's, 12 degrees lower than the water temp. The cooler certainly makes things much kinder on the auto transmission.
