G’day everybody - just discovered why my countless tries to cook sourdough bread in our electric oven fails - when turned all the way up to 220c it’s really only heating to 175c so no rise and no “oven spring “ at all
On YouTube saw a bloke replicate exactly what I did with the same success

Have just bought one of those lid lifters and stands so will attempt to cook in my 10” camp oven in the back yard

I read here that for my camp oven I should have 8 heatbeads on the bottom and 12 on top but I would love you experienced cooks to put me right

If I get to try even before your advise I will photograph and get your criticisms so I can get it right

Will not trust that bloody oven again

Really value your opinions

Kind regards Puff
