The storm here yesterday did some damage over a wide area.
Daughter lost power at their place in Flagstaff Hill so they spent a few hours with us as well as having dinner here before heading home.

Received a call this morning asking to borrow the generator as they were still with out power. Had not started the unit for three months but three pulls and fired up no problems.

Traffic lights out on the way over and plenty of branches down.
Set up at daughters and all ok as they have gas for cooking.

Some places not expected to have power on for 48 hrs. A lot of old camping gear could be pulled out of storage.

Storm front heading to eastern states and if like ours a mini cyclone effect. Check supplies, cooking gear, water and generators as they may be needed.

Take care and stay safe Robert

Over 450 outstanding SES jobs in the queue at 11:15 ACDT.

At the height of the storms yesterday, Adelaide Fire - the dispatcher for MFS, CFS, SES etc - was so overwhelmed they were unable to dispatch via radio, and advised units to self deploy and do manual paper logs.

Triple 0 calls were ringing out, as were calls to SA Power and ATRAC (the railways infrastructure people).

We drove from Elizabeth to Nuriootpa in what I can only describe as wind driven monsoonal rain. Many roads and drains were flooded, yet Nuriootpa at that time had almost zero rain.

South east of the city copped the brunt of it, much worse than us, so I do feel for them.

Storms have just rolled back in.

Small hail and about 6 or 8mm in 15 minutes.

Like everywhere else we're getting mighty tired of this weather...

More heavy rain and strong winds overnight. Daughter does not expect power back on till Tuesday we hope. Up to 50 schools to remain closed due to no power or water damage.

Sister in Port Stephens reports heavy rain and loss of power for 6 hours yesterday. Still more to come Robert
