It's that time of year when I do my marron blog. Noticed I didn't do one last year, probably because I caught none. But anyway, went to a spot I spend quite a bit of time at quite close to home. Only caught one marron, but it was a big one.  Pretty sure it's my PB so was pretty happy.

Heading to the same spot in a couple of weeks with a guy from work who wants to give marroning a go.

They grow quite big for such small waterways.  I remember my son many years ago went out with his cousin chasing them and they got quite a feed.

Well done.  I like your minimalist camping setup.

It looks a good size; all the best for the rest of the season.

Good luck Tadpole.
I remember having our car searched by fisheries when we drove back from Lancelin in 1989.

I've found my camping setup has gotten smaller and smaller over the last couple of years. Especially on single night trips like this. I'm getting too lazy to setup a tent Grin

The fisheries get pretty active over here around this time of year with marron season, crab season and then the abalone days as well. they've got a lot of different species to look after at the moment
