Camped last night at Mendooran NSW donation camp, plenty of room for big rigs. Dump point, toilets, bins and water.

Only problem was 1 bar of Telstra.

Tonight at Scrubby Creek not far south of Mirrium, hope to be at Landsborough tomorrow. Then have to work out what we are doing, about 12 groups of people from Ipswitch to Russel Island to catch up with in 4 days. Should be fun, cheers Robert

There is a little Op Shop at Mendooran.  I bought a little recipe book there that has all the recipes from the Poldark TV Series.  Some of them are original Cornish recipes from the 1800’s.

Cost me $2.

We had lunch sitting in the free camp but didn’t stay there.

A couple of snaps at Scrubby Creek overnight stop.

Arrived at Landsbourgh early yesterday afternoon, raining and going all night. Will move to Ipswitch tomorrow and make that our base for the week while we catch up with friends.

Stay with some friends about 35km east of Texas Qld. This is the view from the verandah.

Nice and relaxing after a few hours driving. Cheers Robert

Didn’t stay there but Maggie and I made a detour once just to see it.

A lot of arguements over the years as to where the “original” black stump was located.

It has been mentioned a couple of times recently on different sites.  Will just be a quick overnighter if we pull in there so won’t be worried about a fire.

You are getting close to Condobolin.  You planning on getting there early?

We are still scheduled to leave Friday and be there Sunday.

Not good on the health bit.

Condobolin has quite a good shopping precinct.  When we were last there, both IGA and a Spar Supermarkets were well stocked.  Butcher shop was quite good as well.

Overcast at Bogan weir and no power going in to the batteries. Decided to head to Codobolin for a few days in the caravan park to catch up on washing, cleaning and water.

Instead of heading back to Peak Hill and down to Parks we took the west road down to Trundle. Big mistake as a fair bit of the road was dirt and very dusty.

Hit one bump/dip in the road and the van went up and sideways. Thought I was losing it but able to use the brake controller when it hit dirt again but a bit of a scare. Never let any one tell you Goldstar are poorly built.

In the River View caravan park and doing my house duties of washing and cleaning.

We got caught on that road. Motorhome was new as was the trailer I used to tow. Front of the trailer looked like it had been sandblasted.  Shocked

Gave the suspension a good workout.  Smiley

Favour needed any one coming to Gumtree Bend I need a couple of John Guest fittings.

90 degree 1/2 BSP thread to the blue pipe which I believe is classed as 12mm.

Noticed today a pipe hanging down, went under the van and the connector between both tanks was sheered of by a rock. No fittings available here but did score a industrial SS one for hydrolics.

So if any one could pick me a two for my spares kit would be great Robert.

Robert, Lockyer RV is five minutes from here so will slip up tomorrow and grab a couple.  They have quite a range of spares.

Do you want two the same as the image??  Clip one end and threaded the other.

Robert, the guy at the RV place told me that the white ones are not a John Guest fitting and are for internal use only.  Exposed to the elements they will become brittle.

I got these John Guest ones.  They are two pieces that go together.

Cheers

Cold wet and miserable when we packed and left Junee.

Headed to Beachworth but no area to park, town near full with angled parked cars. Headed on to Wangaratta but been too much rain and did not trust getting into the freedom camps. All creeks had water flowing to just below the top of the banks. Country side was water logged and still rain forecasted to fall.

Headed to Shepparton via Beralia, started to get tired and pulled into a rest stop about 40 klm east of Shepparton. Busy road with a lot of trucks but have learnt to just put the noise outside. Reasonable night sleep and a fair bit of evening rain.

Onto Ballarat today but with the amount of rain and water logged ground making caravan parks a mud hole we might head home early. Cheers Robert

It is still wet here at Junee.  Currently 6.9 but feels like 3.9.

Still waiting for the extra solar panel to arrive but enjoying our time on the farm with Mark & Patrya.

To late now but Brown Brothers winery just out of Wangaratta would have been a good stop for you.  You park up in their car park.

Not sure when we will leave as the tracking for the solar panel stopped when it left Perth by road.  Supposed to be road express whatever that may be.

I am still playing with my battery.  Was down to just under 50% after the last 2 days with overcast and rain so flicked on my mains charger and she is currently throwing in 38.7 amps.

Take care on the wet roads mate.

Two hours and back to 100%.  As we discussed at Condobolin a small generator for this would be great when free camping.

Hi Derek yes 2 hours on the rd is enough to bring mine back up as well. Will look at a 800watt when back home. Weight ans size good compared to the 2.2kw inverter one at home.

This may be worth looking at https://outbax.com.au/miniature-gentrax-1kw-inverter-generator?gclid=CjwKCAjwp6C...

I have a 800w no name generator as well, but I have not used it in some time. I found with my setup I have been able to just use the extra solar panel I have, if I need the extra power, plus the panel is lighter to carry in the camper.

Well we moved onto Bendigo and got a pay for two and stay three deal at the Tasman Holiday Park.

Have had trouble with the right side of my back for years and have the nerves burnt every year to ease the pain. Some where up the road the left side went bad and nerve pain near unbelievable.
Had one of the staff reverse the van and he helped set it up as I could not.

As Molly was still working life goes on, I went to Bunnings for some gear and Molly had her trip to the woollen mill. Some for the van but the majority posted home. A bit too bulky.

The friend we wanted to see was still working so he could not see us. Effort made do not think we will be back that way.

Talking to a couple of blokes there and when we were leaving they both gave us a hand to pack up and hitch the van. By that stage I was not able to do any of it. It was cold and damp and I was appreciative of the help.

Decided on a run home with a stop in at Edenhope near the SA border. By the time we arrived it was dark from the clouds and raining. I was stuffed and just out of town was a level gravel pit so pulled in for the night.

Next morning we headed home via Staphalbyn for scones and then home. Left the van on the street for the night and will attempt to park tomorrow,

Bit of a update on what is happening which is not much. Since we got back in July my days just seem to be filled with medical appointments.

Was expected to go this weekend for a get together with the Freedom Campers SA but back flared up so not risking it.

Finally going in to Flinders on Tuesday to have some injections to the spine to try and ease the nerve pain from July so hoping it works. Saw my pain specialist the other week and after reviewing my scans just looked at me and said ‘ Robert your spine is stuffed’.
So we are trying what we can without major surgery.

Finally had the bit of welding done on the A frame so that is out of the way. Finished the 12v conversion for the Starlink but yet to try. Maybe this weekend while Molly is not working. Had my auto electrician wire in a 12v outlet for it and another in each of the bed side cupboards. Need power there for my Cpap machine. With a new set of tyres on we are now ready to roll.

So now we are just waiting for the chance to get away which does not look like it will be this year.

Take care cheers Robert.

That is no good mate, no good at all.

I remember the day Maggie and I sat across from the surgeon and he said to her that there was nothing surgery could do to help her back.

The injections and significant medications help but it is always there.

She is managing quite well on this trip though which has been good and we are already making plans for next year.

Take care.

Just a update, not been a good year all round came home and took near 3 months before the injections in theT7,8 and 9 vertebrae's both sides. Intense pain has settled down which is a relieve.

Lower back still giving the most problems but like Maggie you just have to live with it and give your best.

Found out we have a bent A Frame so have started the insurance claim for repairs. Do not expect anything untill the new year.

Molly has time off ove Christmas so we will sit down and see what we can do about making the cook up. Might even continue up north.

Believe the New Year will be much better so safe traveling and good health to all cheers Robert and Molly.

Good to see you getting reasonably mobile again Robert. Maggie is booked in early January for more spinal injections.
