Has anyone visited Maggie Beer’s farm and shop or the Beerenberg outlet shop.

From what I can see they sell items not available in the main shops/supermarkets.

Couple of years back when we had the COG at Towitta we were not far from Maggie Beer and we fully intended to go have a look but simply forgot.

Want to catch both of them this time.

We have often found country IGA’s have some things that we don’t see around here.  I remember that place had some great Indian spices as well.

Robert, how have you found the town overall?  Was pretty lively last we were there but these country towns sure can change quickly.

Hi Derek,

Sorry for the tardy reply - been away O/S for a week or so.

Maggie Beer's Farm Shop has what seems to be an ever-changing range of jams and that sort of thing that you would expect.

Around these parts gin is the new fad, so they have their own (pricey) spirits now as well.

If you were a fan of her cooking show, they have recreated the set in the shop.

The food in the café is good but not cheap.

If/when you plan to go there, let me know (it's just around the corner) and we could possibly visit a cellar door or seven.

Thanks Colin.  Without any real plan we do expect to spend a couple of weeks in and around the Barossa so will let you know when we get there.

Having two little puppies makes it difficult for us to go to a lot of places but we accept that.

Many of the pubs/ cellar doors etc are dog friendly.

There is also a camping ground at the cricket ground here in Greenock, which I believe is also dog friendly.

We are also on a couple of acres, so I am sure we could find a
level place if you wanted to park up. (there's even a fire pit and firewood if required  Grin )
