What was the road/track like into the Lost City? Took my Suzuki Grand Vitara in there and thought it was going to break in half.

How is the bird watching going? Saw my first ever Great Bowerbird at the Lost City. The one with the pink tuft on the back of it’s neck.

The track into Lost City rough and badly eroded. Used 4 low for a while.

Birds are flightly and difficult to identify in some of the wooded areas.
.plenty of Straw necked Ibis, brolga and red tailed black cockatoos.

Also saw a pair of Partridge Pigeons near a lake outside of Darwin.

I have visited many Commonwealth War Cemeteries, here and overseas.
The one at Adelaide River is the most beautifully maintained I have ever seen.

We had the same or similar problem with our Dometic fridge. Phoned Dometic and they put us in touch with their agent in Darwin.
Agent came out to our caravan park to assess the problem. Three days later part arrived then fitted. Great service. Ours was fixed under warranty. Cheers Brian.

The road in is 53klm of dirt, equal to the corrugations of Cape York.
At least 30 Creek crossings.
That only gets you to the visitor centre.
Another 27klm to the south end of the park and another 45klm fron there up to the northern end.

Internet is shocking
Spent 2 nights at Barn Hill Station.
Highly recommend it.
Now in Port Hedland.
Mining is on steroids here.
The port can handle 18 300 metre long ore carriers at once.
Tugs are non stop on the go here.
Everywhere you walk or shop you see hiviz clothing.

No Derek.
No accommodation at all.
No free camps nearby.
Pardoo Station and Roadgouse still closed due to cyclone damage.

We have another night at Port Hedland.
Managed to get 2 nights at Karajini NP.
First 2 nights on power at Auski Roadhouse to catch up on washing.
Did managed to get a 3 night unpowered at Coral Bay.
Everywhere is booked out up this way.

Counted wagons on a coal train this morning.... 272, plus 4 locos.

We had 3 nights at Shark Bay and made our way to Kalbarri today.
Drove into 30 plus klm headwind.
Best I could get was 25 litres per 100klms.
We had our first rain at Shark Bay, but only at night.

The Greenock buildings are used as storage these days. F. Lauke and Lauke Mills are different companies. I haven't got to the bottom of it but they are related, brothers I think, but it is a murky thing (just like all small town histories I suppose).

Back at Greenock after a daytime to Hahndorf.
Wanted to buy some German foods.
The German Pantry was closed for the day.
Disappointed that we couldn't get any liverwurst or herring for the remainder of the trip.
Did get to stock up at Beerenberg farm.

These 2 were pleased to see each other.
He was 4 weeks old when we left.
Lauren faithfully face timed when we had coverage.
So he got to see us and hear our voices often.
