Twice on this trip we stayed at caravan parks that offer express check-in.

When looking for caravan parks I always ring first to check for any specials available.  Rarely do they not offer something.  One park we stayed at this trip gave us 25% off because we stayed more than 4 nights and another which was an NRMA Park gave us one day free because we booked 7 days.

Both parks took one nights payment over the phone then as our stay got close we received an invoice in an email for the balance to pay online.  Both parks asked us to complete a pre-check-in form with our details online.

On the morning of our arrival we received an email with our check in details including a map off our site and amenities and boom gate codes.

Didn’t have to go near the office on arrival.

For me I find this pretty darned good.

That happened last time we went to Jindabyne Kev.  Day we left the snow came down.   Grin

NRMA use the express check in.
We love it. We are NRMA Blue members and it gives us 10% discount.

When I booked into Jindabyne as an RACQ Member they gave me a complimentary 12 month membership to their NRMA Parks & Resorts.  I believe that gives me the same discount.

At first glance it feels like an odd thing to me. I admit it's been a while since we stayed at a van park.

I have never found it onerous or taxing to stop by reception to check in, in fact, having a chat with the folk there is an early step in trying to slow down and get used to relaxing.

I guess these procedures came about as a result of social distancing and the like. I also guess that the parks and users like it, so here it is to stay. I mean dealing with people face to face, who would want to do that?  Grin Shocked

Different strokes, for different folks.
