Just had a look at it and some of their messaging is a little disturbing.

The FAQs says "No monthly subscription fees or in app purchase costs."

Yet in the Apple App store it says $9.99 plus in app purchases - which is $1.99 to remove ads.

If I have paid for an app that should remove the ads, fullstop, no discussion to be had. Yet you have to pay extra for the ads to be removed via an in app purchase they claim they do not have.

Sorry, too many red flags for me and that hasn't even considered their privacy policies which are a little off-putting as Apple says they store personal data, yet their Support/FAQs/Website does not appear to have a privacy policy.

Nah, it’s a good App.

A mate of mine developed it back in 2013/14.  Was free when it first came out back then but he realised a buck was to be made so he started charging.  I got mine free.

It is crowd sourced so most of the content has been done by us, the users over the years.

Two years ago Russ got made an offer by the G’day Caravans Park Group to buy it.  Cut a long story short, he is now several million dollars better off and they took it over.

Been huge changes since then.  A new and bigger database was the first and then slowly a change of icons, separating different types of entries and those last ones yesterday.

One thing they did do a little while back was place adverts in.  They are just simple ones at the base of a page.  You can barely see them.  Was a big outcry as people didn’t want them so now they are moving to people being able to remove adverts for a fee.

I think for the G’Day mob it is all about dollars and recouping their money.

There are a few out there but for me it’s still the best travel app for this country.

Russ also released Apps for NZ, America and Europe but seems that G’day have let them go.
