First trip since September 2024, a run to Lake Bonney in the Riverlands for a few days.

Hard driving as the spine and pelvis hurting like crap. Bit of a break at 2 hours then anothe 50 minute  run. Still need to put the stabilisers down and awning out, maybe.

Last night droped to -2c but nice sun shine at the momrnent.

Couple of photos, two of the lake and one of the van. Cheers Robert

Apart from the pain it’s good to see you eventually got away.

Looking at your caravan photo reminds me why we like the south in winter.  Hardly anyone else around and the pick of the spots.

Hope you start to feel better.

Maybe time to invest in an electric awning.

Morning all low of 1c this morning with a breeze off the lake making it seem colder. Nothing much planned for today may go do a tourist drive around. Cheers Robert

Back home but have more photos to put up after I clean the van. May be heading to Melbourne for a few days next week.

Before we left I was checking stuff in the box on the rear bumper and forgot to close the lid. As it happened heavy rain that night but did not no5ice the amount when I closed the lid.

Needless to say every thing was soaked so emptied it to day to dry it all out. Spares, tools, awning ropes as well as the water filter bag. Drilled a couple of small holes to drain the water. Should have it all back in by Thursday. Cheers

If you haven’t got a site yet, check out Discovery Parks - Melbourne at Braybrook.

It is the one we stayed at quite a few times when Clay was in hospital.  It is about 8 or 9 klm west of the CBD.

It was set up as an overnighter for the Tassie Ferries when they left from Melbourne so quite a lot of large drive through sites where people didn’t need to unhook.

Highly recommend it.

After about 15years my travel fridge is being replace, works as a fridge but not as a freezer which we want. Trouble these days up to 60 litre appear to be either fridge or freezer depends what you want at the time.

Need to go to the two lid ones to have fridge or freezer at the same time. Can not afford another Dometic so still looking.

Keep safe cheers Robert

The old Dometic fridge was not keeping the ice cream frozen, not good for pop or the grand kids.

Newer models of most makes I can afford only allow you to have fridge or freezer up to 60 litre. Not good for us as we like fridge and freezer at the same time.

Kings were replacing their fridges with new models so I got a 75 litre for half price. Also bought the large cover and slide for half price. Took a bit by myself with my problems but all in and working well.

That looks the goods.

I am seeing a huge amount of Kings camping products as we get around.  They seem to be capturing the market at present.

Read an article from a battery expert the other day saying their Lithium batteries are coming out with good results.

They have a product at a price people can afford. These fridges normally sell for near $800 and the top brands around $1500. The fridge and a insulated cover cost me $500. Same compressor as major brands I believe.

If the auxiliary battery in-the fridge was to die then I would look at a kings

Bit like the diesel heaters mate you buy three cheap ones for less then the main brand ones.

One of the best things is you can walk in and just about buy every thing you need for camping in the one place. Cheers Robert

That was a good buy.  Have lost count of the number of Kings awnings and roof top tents I have seen.

I bought a Kings carry bag for my new Weber when I first got it.

Yesterday I went to Stoney Creek Bush Camp about 317 klm north of home and 5 klm East of Wilmington. Had a light lunch in a rest area before heading of the highway. A nice drive with very little traffic and some small towns to explore one day.

Arrived mid afternoon and set up, bush camp is the word and a nice area. No night noise or lights once people are in their vans.

Will head into Wilmington today and grab some photos Molly stayed at home as she is still not well and most likely need some rest from my hovering.

Photos Light lunch, Camp set up, Laundry room

Take care cheers Robert
