Just bit the bullet and booked a fare on the Spirit Of Tasmania for us and the Motorhome departing Geelong 1 September next year for Tassie. No return ticket yet as can only book 11 months in advance. Told Maggie we might stay for Christmas. Will also be there for my birthday and our 15 year wedding anniversary. Cheesy

Started checking everything over today. Heading off next week to Hervey Bay. Just a short trip for a week.

Have booked a site in the newly revamped Pialba Caravan Park. It is now dog friendly and we will have a waterfront site as in the photo.

Opened the fridge in the motorhome, it’s not switched on, and found six stubbies of Boags Beer in there. The best by date is August this year so they are still all good. Cheesy

We have arrived and almost set up at the Pialba Beachfront Caravan Park.

Look at where we are - location, location, location. Check out the water view

What they have done to this park is absolutely amazing. Sites are big enough to get the trailer beside us and the little car out front.

So pleased we have our own coffee machine in the motorhome.

Sitting here looking out over the calm waters is far better than sitting in a crowded, noisy cafe..

Even with the likelihood of showers Maggie said, “Nothing can spoil this”.

Local king prawns are pretty good at present. Heaps of them around. Unfortunately no red spot king prawns though.

These went well with a salad.

With these big fresh banana prawns at only $19 a kilo, how could I not.

Stir fried in lots of butter and garlic together with salt, pepper, parsley and dill and served with a nice side salad.

I am content.

For our last afternoon here in Hervey Bay we are sitting in the motorhome while it is pouring down with rain outside from scattered storm cells.

We did see the storm coming so packed up everything outside and put the awning down.

We broke camp in the rain about 8.30 and it poured down all the way to Maryborough so we decided to head straight down the highway to home instead of going inland and camping the night.

As it turned out not that far south of Maryborough the rain cleared and we arrived home to where we are still in drought. Grin

We had an amazing week for sure. Very, very relaxing and simply lovely to be out again in the motorhome. As much as I intended I didn’t get to go fishing.

We both have some ‘body servicing’ appointments coming up late May and through June and after that hoping to head down to see our family now living near Victor Harbour in South Aussie.

Motorhome and everything about it went well and as it should. It is due for a service before we head off again.

Have booked a week at the Reflections Caravan Park at Urunga just south of Coffs Harbour from next Tuesday.
