By now we are all familiar with these ovens, cast by the Bundaberg foundry for various QLD government departments....or so the story goes.
They came in a few sizes, the most common being the 12 inch. There are also examples of 18 inches around, and in recent times I've heard there also 9 or 10 inch examples out there.
Ive yet to see one of those in the flesh or even a photo.
Ive now owned quite a few of these 12 inch ovens , and sold some on. Currently I own four of them.
In recent years I've found a couple of variations from the standard oven that most are familiar with.
The reason for this post is to document those variations and to see if other such examples are out there.
Below is a photo of all three different ovens.
The middle oven is the standard run of the mill oven complete with original factory handle.
The one on the right is one that I picked up a few years ago at the Nambour Swap Meet.
The one on the left with legs like Elle MacPherson was a recent purchase at the Toowoomba Swap Meet.
More photos to come.

The "Nambour Oven" , this one is different in that the lid handle is completely different to the normal thin tab with a hole drilled in it.
The the bail arm on the pot is also different and is attached very differently to the normal version.

Now the long legged version.
When I bought this one I thought maybe I'd payed a litte to much for it, it was more than I wanted but the owner drove a hard bargain.
Took it back to camp and stashed it away in what I thought was a fairly discreet spot.
Within an hour someone had spotted it and was offering $100 more than I'd payed for it.
Had to say sorry, no way, it's comming home with me.
This is going to be an excellent Oven to cook in with those long legs, plenty of room to let the coals breath.

Thanks for posting Rory.  As I said, it is nice to see them all sitting together.  All quite unique.

Just to add to the story here is a photo of an 18 inch one owned by Ranger Nick.  He often uses it in his cooking demos.
