I really was after a Murray Cod or a nice Yellowbelly but all I caught was a stinking Carp.

Did manage a good feed for breakfast on the Ozpig though.

We were camped at the Police Paddocks on the Murray River in Victoria - 2014

Hi Derek
Looks like a nice spot to camp.
Do many people eat carp. I have heard a lot of people catch them and just leave them on the ground.
regards Kev

I have never eaten them.  To my knowledge they are full of bones and taste like mud.

It is illegal to release them back in the water.

Port and Muscat tasting at the Morris Winery in The Rutherglen - 2014.  Maggie wanted to take the barrel home but had to settle for a carton of bottles.   Grin

Standley Chasm in the West McDonnell Ranges in the NT is one of those places you really need to stand in to appreciate it properly.  We were there in 2025.
