Derek,  If you lived in that part of the world I don't think you would find that $200 U.S. rare.  Although granted you may remember that Fogcrawler took a long time to find one.  But not $200 rare.

I think you are right LK

I am going to the States in May this year for a conference.  Will be at Bastrop in Texas.  Hopefully will have time to poke around and see if I can bring a few things home.

Whoa back there, whoa I say... let sanity in, I've got a pretty bad case of castironitis but even I can't justify spending that sort of $$$$ on a oven only good for show; but then don't let me put you off Derek.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

Derek,

I can see you taking extra days before and after, and hitting the yard sales.  I can't say as I remember picking up on many IDOS members being near there, though.  But then again, they could be competition.  Maybe, you'd better keep mum and pick up your local knowledge from others.

Anyway, you won't need heavy luggage going.

Cool

Derek,  I have one of those.  Paid about US$10.  When I saw it up to $200 I thought at first it was a typo.  Then when I saw the history I knew what the deal is.  Little Koppit.  The days are so long and dark up there she has nuthin' better to do than doctor up a fake ebay link.  Mate,  noway is that genuine.  It's a prank.  Its a $10 - $15 item fer Krissakes !

If you are that desperate,  I would pick one up for you and freight it to you.  Notwithsatanding the cost of that,  you still would be quids in.  Let me know and DON'T  bid on that damned thing.  Or,  I could sit on one until you get here,  and drive down to deliver it to you.  Meet half the cost of petrol and you are on.  Which part of Tex-arse is your conference in ?

Derek  -  I blundered.  Sorry about that.  My eyes ain't that good,  and I've just realized that mine is NOT the Lodge,  but the Campchef.  Sooooooo  it is possible the Lodge will fetch big bucks on account of scarcity.  I still think it's bloody ridiculous nonetheless.

And to LK,  an apology for suspecting for one minute you were perpetrating a fraud on our beloved Leader and Guru,  Derek.  I guess I judge people by my own standards  -  it's the kinda prank I would pull if I had the technical knowhow  -  lol
