Hi all, Im new to camp oven cooking. I purchased a chepo CO at BCF a few days ago.

I have followed the instructions for seasoning, but me being me I did it a few times, I put in in the oven @ 250 deg for half hour then wiped with oil and repeated 5X.  It has now turned black and is quite smooth inside. Is this O.K or have I over done it?

Cheers

Mate thats fine, I dont think you can over do it. Now just get a lump of meat on, or a stew and fire it up, get some good flavours happening.

Cheers Astro,

I was afraid Id overdone it.  It will get a good run this weekend at Litchfield.  Got a few Lamb shanks, I plan on doing them with some onion, carrot, celery and then braise them slowly in some red wine and beef stock.

Followed by a beef casserole on SAT and a roast on SUN.

Cant wait, I've been watching Tommo on TV for years so its about time I got one.

Salivating just writing about it!!!

Cheers

Astro,
The reason I asked is because when i put the lid on and spin it there is a bit of peeling of the 'burned in oil'.

Cheers again
