Hi guy's.

Bin checkin out the pies and was wondering what is best for pastry...Tins or Pyrex glass.

Is there an advantage with either...Looking forward to making apple pie (with cream And icecream))

This is only my opinion...Glass for pastry I find it easier to get out and even heat....but others may have other ideas... so soak them all up...we may all learn something.

Sooner or later glass, even Pyrex (tm) is going to break/shatter. (drop it, then its sooner)
I always use tin/foil, the best little game pies I sometimes make are from 4" flans, the fluted outside always gets a comment.
But having said that, its a personal thing, eh.

Tins for me guys!!
traveling on rough roads into the mountains spells disaster with glass.
with the tins I can pack them in with the ovens. Smiley Smiley

Interesting to see this old post pop up.

Made me think that you never see Pyrex in a bakers shop.

I have used both Pyrex and tin in a camp oven, Weber as well as the oven at home and really have found no difference in the end product.
