Hi all well I thought I would let you know
The time is drawing near for my wifes very first camping trip I have camped before but as the days get closer I am finding that I am getting excited.
We are heading down to yamba big 4 clarence coast resort camping grounds for easter I booked a powered site there so as to try and make her 1 st trip as easy as I can.

For the past few months we have been purchasing gear and whow there is so much stuff that you can make camping realy comfortable. I baught a camp oven the other week and have been trying to cook in it I seasoned it and tried a damper for my first attempt afraid I burnt it so I will remember the next time to cut the heat down a little bit. I am using heat beads and the heat bead chart is great guide. I also have a chimney brilliant. I will post a small review about the camping grounds however there is already a post in another forum.

Cheers for now happy camp cooking looking forward to the experience.

G'dayexcited newbie,
mate very important to make the missus cumfy. I bought a Kimberley kamper for that exact reason. It's all good for the boys to go bollekers with the cheese but the girls really
appreciate the finer things in life. Mate not my scene but the things we do at times...... see happy snaps below.

These happy snaps taken at Ballina-not my idea of fun but the missus loved it .

Did I read that right?  You're calling a great big large tent a camper

Now, over here you might pull a trailer which will be called a 'folder' or a pop up and the top part will be mostly canvas, but I confess I don't think if any mostly canvas rig as a camper.

Cool

Hello LK,
you certainly could be excused for thinking this was a big tent but there is a camper in there!! Smiley We had been having some extremely poor windy weather and therefore had spent some extra time putting up the full annex for some protection.I will enclose a happy snap or two of the camper as we usually set up (about 10 minutes)

I will find another and post shortly

Hi LK,
just found a better picture of our camper, you can have no screens or sunshade if you are only staying overnight.
Or as you saw in the original pictures all of the canvas/windbreaks up.
The setup time will range from 2 minutes for overnight sleep to about 45 minutes to put up the lot.
Sorry, they were not good pictures to post But I was trying to make a statement that sometimes the fairer sex likes a few creature comforts and without some a few ladies will not go and do harsh camping. My wife refuses to did a hip hole and sleep on the ground anymore!! Grin

Now that's a fine look'in camper Skip.
I've got a 'camp-o-matic' at present, it's an older model but still in good nick. I like the 'hard floor' models as oppossed to the 'soft floor' jobs (But I'm not pulling the lid on THAT tin o worms Grin)
I aspire to eventually own a KK at some stage, & am always on the lookout for a good second hand one. Just trading my way up & gradually improving with each go. Gee's a bloke shouldn't get started on camper trailers Grin Grin
Just getting the vehicle arrangement sorted at present, quad on the back, hook onto the camper & head for the scrub.
Nice one mate, you'll get many, many years of enjoyment out of it.
Hooroo for now Smiley
