"Booty fab" is an expression that has unknown origins and generally means making something in a rough way and using an object to perform a duty it was not intended to do....having got that out of the way.

A conversation.

Him - "Have you seen my CO lifters? They where there last week?"

Her - No.  Look again....

Him - Looked and looked.  Can't find 'em.  Need them now for your guests to have that cook out feeling...

Her - Haven't seen them.  Do without.

Him - Can't.  Needed to lift heavy HOT cast iron pots.

Her - Improvise!  Make some!

Him - Ermm?  OK?  (and he looks around...this will pizz of the guy on eBay selling these things for a motza)

Him - Darls?  Do you need those hooks for the pot plants right now???

Patio Hook - from any hardware..

...

Her - No.  But you replace them soon as!  (stern look thrown)

Cut the hook off and bend them close in the vice or use a hammer.

...

They work!!!

...

And as soon as I made these up, you guessed it, I found my "real" irons.  Maybe I will include these now in the "real" section.
From memory these cost $2.70 each out of any large hardware store and are the 450mm unit.  You can get longer.  Cheap as cheap is.
