Well I'm back from Canada, not been around for awhile computer crashed and burnt, have a much faster computer now it's great.

That Furphy is one of the new Chinese ones. The sad thing is that on eBay they are selling for more than what they cost to buy new.

Are you certain that is a Chinese Furphy, the lid handle certainly does not look like an Oriental one.
All the new Furphy's I have seen in stores have the typical "dump end" style of handle casting, that one appears to be quite symetrical.

By crikey Mikel, I think you are right.

I need to look a bit more closer. If that's the case then this is a pre 90's Furphy before they started putting the year of manufacture on the lid.

Derek I emailed the guy selling it, and asked him how old it was, he could not tell me, so may be he picked it up second hand. the way these have been going it should hit the $ 400 plus to rich for me Grin
