Came across this notice at campertrailers.org:

Cobb Cookers are looking for Cobb owners or camping/outdoor cooking enthusiasts to become Cobb demonstrators for regular in-store demos in Ray's Outdoors, BCF stores and on occasion, a hand at the caravan, camping and fishing expos in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane & Perth and surrounding areas.

If you are interested please give Jackie Sinclair a call on (03) 9532 5611 or send her an email telling a bit about yourself Jackie@cobb.com.au

Usual disclaimer: no connection etc.

Cheers,
Ern

Tom from Tmba BCF at the Kingsthorpe COG advised me this and I got him talking to Derek..............................

I was talking to Tom in BCF today and he had 400 turn up for his Tmba BCF Club Cobb demo the Wednesday after the Kingsthorpe COG where he was doing a dummy run.

At the National 4X4 Show in Brisbane last weekend Cobb were not doing any cooking demos even though they had a stand.  Funny thing was that Anaconda just around the corner were cooking and selling for around $70 less than Cobb.

I had a serious rethink about my Cobb after the COG

They are more economical on beads than COs. (I ran out)

You dont have to go near a hot fire on a hot day.

My temperament suits cooking alone rather than in a mass environment  Cheesy

Demonstrating would be a nightmare as they do take longer to cook anything.   I feel, there would have to be lots of precooked food taken along.

I also find them a pain to clean up afterwards in a camping situation.

I am still pondering......

And much lighter to boot Carolyn. I carry a fair bit of gear when camping so anything a bit lighter is a bonus.
I will probably use mine a lot more for camping when there are just a few of us.
I seem to use my CO's a lot more at home, and of course at COGs.

I had a good chat to Jackie at Cobb about this today.

Yes they are definitely looking for demonstrators.

They are going to primarily sell through Rays Camping and BCF.  What they are looking for are "demonstrators" and not necessarily "cooks".  This will be done at the stores with everything supplied.

There will be cooking involved but it will basically be light the cobblestone and put on a leg of lamb and then demonstrate the functions and accessories of the Cobb.  More of a sales thing than a cooking demonstration.

What they are looking at are regular demonstrations in all of the stores.  Timing will generally be from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm on Saturdays.  Opportunity to earn a little cash for some people.

If you are interested then send Jackie and email at jackie@cobb.com.au or call her on 0395 325 611.

Cheers
