Hi there,
While married, my HB is not as keen to go away as much as I like to and so I'm about to start holidaying with my kids away from the hotels and such and get them expending that energy in the great outdoors!  I love camping but am finding the idea of camping on my own with 2 kids under five a little daunting.  Hopefully I can make some contacts in the SE Qld area.

Cheers
Carla

drCarls welcome, do it, do it, get the kids into the great outdoors, while understandably difficult, what you are doing is giving them lasting memories and history which they will not forget, be it good trips or disasters.

Don't waste a day, not while your breathing.

G'day drCarls, I admire you starting two littlies off with an appreciation of camping and all that goes with it.
Here's a thought, get them a Billmans oven with their name on the lid, teach them how to cook in it, something they'll have for a lifetime.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

Hi Carla and welcome, welcome.

I know you are aware of the next Camp Oven Gathering we have at The Gorge.  Not sure at this stage if we will have families with kids but will let you know.

Hi Carla,
I took my kids camping when they were young and it is some of their fondest memories. I started by just going to the nearest campiing area which is visited by families and all others. This helped myself and them feel safe and know what their boundaries were. My Son now has young children and we take them away at Easter and they look  forward to it. Kids love to experience the bush and nature and the freedom and the new things to find .

Good Luck and all the best

Cheers

G'day Carla and welcome

Good luck with your camping exploits with your two kids. I'm sure you will all have a great time.

I've been taking my young bloke away campin since he was a baby and we've always had ball.  Smiley
